Assignments
Remix
The song that i remixed was "I love Kanye" By Kanye West. The song itself didn't have any instruments playing and i basically changed that. I added a few loops, one was of a guitar riff, another was a bass loop, I also added a piano loop and some drums into it.

Group Composition
We stated off with a simple beat we liked and then built it from there. Afterwords we used a similar beat towards the end of the song to finish it off.

Sound-trap Reflection
In my opinion I believe that if u like a certain type of sound weather it is organized or not then it is considered good in your eyes. At the end of the day it comes down to personal interest and what u like. This is similar to what musician/composer, Jim Davis says, "personal taste. If you like it, then to YOU: it's good.". He also mentions that if an artist uses an equal balance of passion and technique then the music will be "good". Other people might think about putting a rating scale on the music with factors such as popularity and structure but i don't think that a rating scale would be appropriate because the factors could be different for everyone.
Out of the three sound-trap compositions that i have worked on, I feel that the group composition was in my opinion the best one. Out of five stars I would give it a 4.5 and would consider adding it to one of my playlists. I gave it a 4.5 because of how I enjoyed the sound of composition and I enjoyed working with the people in my group who helped to structure it. I felt calm while listening to the composition and in some points a bit of excitement.

The structure that I used was Intro, chorus, verse, chorus, verse, chorus/outro.
The into is from measures 1 through 8. The chorus is measures 9 through 16, measures 25 through 32, and measures 41 through 48. The verse is measures 17 through 24, and measures 33 through 40.

Interpreting Intent: This is America
I enjoyed the song and will listen to it again in the future. The composer switches rhythm in the song whenever the chorus changes into the verse. The verses in the song tend to seem more aggressive and sort of angry while the chorus has a happier feel to it. Also the composer uses and alters between the use of F minor, A flat, D minor, E major, and C minor. Seeing that he used both major and minor keys shows that he intended the song to have low moments and high moments as the key changed at different times from the verse to the chorus. The rhythm plays a big role as it helps give a verse an aggressive feel and calms down in the chorus.

The objective in this composition was to create a composition of 72 measures that included an intro, verse, chorus, bridge, and outro. I also had to use tools like tempo, dynamics, rhythm, and key. My intro is from measures 1-8 and it goes into a verse from measures 9-16. Then comes a bridge from measures 17-28 and flows into a chorus from measures 29-36. Measures 37-40 are another bridge that go into another verse from measures 41-56. Measures 57-63 are a chorus and the composition goes back into a verse in measures 64-72. My outro goes a little over the required measures and is from measures 73-77. I didn't want the listener to only feel one emotion so from measures 1-37 I used more of a minor key sound and a bit of a slower rhythm to bring give a calm feel to the composition. After that in measures 38-56 I wanted the listener to feel a sense of happiness and accomplishment and I did this by using a piano loop in a major key and used clapping in hope to bring some excitement to the piano, the rhythm is also different from the first section and a bit faster. From measures 57-77 I wanted the listener to not feel sad but maybe more accomplished as this section was in the key of D and was coming to an end I used a slower rhythm and had it fade out at the end.
